Mackie C4 Pro and Mackie MCU

I have the MCU Pro and C4 Pro with Sonar X1D.
I'm unable to see the Equalizer in both the unit.
I can see only "Compressor" but not the Equalizer in both the plugin mode or Eq mode.
In the C4 i can see the other plugin and scroll throu the different param. but not the prochannel who's showing only the compressor part of the plugin.
Can someone help me ?

thank you in advance.
Vincent

File a bug report. I've put several in and been moaning about it for some time. You'll find that you can see the EQ but.... there's always a but... only if it's first in the PC chain. In fact you'll only see whatever is first in the PC chain be that compressor, EQ, tube sat or whatever.

This is new behaviour in X1d. Prior to that I could see the EQ in EQ mode but not past that. I'm hoping it gets sorted at some point, it's very frustrating as I'm sure you know.

Naaaaa.... i've change my icon qcon for a Mackie MCU Pro + C4 Pro to be "totally compliant" with Sonar ! It's a pity.
I hope a workaround will be available, perhaps a change in the .ini file of the MackieControl.
To be sure (sorry for my poor english), what do you mean for first in the PC chain ? Is it possible to change and put the Eq before the Compressor in the sequence so that the EQ will be available in the C4 screen ?
I will report the bug. Thanks for your help.

I've tried every trick I know for editing the ini file,  but ultimately the MCU can't 'see' the parameters of any module except the first.

Yes you can drag the modules into any order you want, so if you put the EQ before the compressor the MCU/C4 will see the EQ but not the compressor.

Of course that may also affect the sound you are after as well.

    Not ideal.

Anyone from Cakewalk like to give us users an idea as to if/when there'll be an update. I'd rather know now if it's never, false hope and all that..........

I don't know this as fact but wonder if the OP have X1 D Expanded. As far as I know if its X1 D and not expanded the order of the PC modules may not be moveable.

You could be right John but I thought order was changeable in all flavours of the PC. Any Vanilla X1d users care to confirm or refute that?

I simply don't know but wonder what the non expanded version has. X1 had the routing icons at the bottom that would allow for placing modules in an order that the user wanted. Expanded brought in extra modules and did away with the old way of routing. That may have been added to the D update but I wonder if it did.

BTW this does not help the MC user. LOL. I think we need to petition CW to update the MC support.

I put a feature request in followed by a bug report a while ago. I also posted it up for others to cut & paste their own in as well. Thread here

I seem to recall Willy responding as well to say that it was in future plans to update the MCU integration but it's all gone quiet recently.

I've not the "Expanded" version and i'm not sure i can change the chain order but i will try, waiting for the fix or workaround....
I hope the MCU & C4 support will be upgraded considering how many users are waiting for !

Using the MCU Pro, Extended and C4 here with X1D. /n What niggles me is that although tracks can be hidden in X1D, they're not hidden on the Mackie. Are you getting the same FBB and others? /n Have you reported this one on your bug list, or is it just me that gets it?

That's a setting in the control surface dialogue. Yours will be set on "All Tracks". Change it to Console or Track View and then you'll only see what is displayed in your view choice. To finish it all off neatly check "Keep views in sync" in the track manager.

The ability to physically move ProChannel modules is indeed a component of Expanded, without it the only way to change routing is the original method of utilizing the graphical representation routing tool at the bottom of ProChannel.

Confirmed, the only way is to change the routing and the EQ is now showing is param. in the C4 if it is the n. 1 in the chain.
Could be useful as temp. solution but we hope in a fix.
But how is feasible to navigate in the plugin params after the first page (8 param max) without the C4 having only the MCU ? Is there a way ? I'm brand new in the MAckie control surfaces and i don't if it is my fault or is due to the x1d patch cause i'm a Mackie user exactly from the same time when i installed the D patch. (bad idea i know).

thanks to all the users supporting this thread. (and the other MCU and C4 threads).

You can cycle through a total of 10 FX using the MCU. It also used to be 10 channel EQs and 10 Channel Compressors as well.

I'm working from memory here so may not be entirely accurate.......in Plugin mode turn on the Edit light and then use M1 + channel change keys to cycle through them. Display will show P1. P2. P3. etc as you go through them. That's for the plugins in the FX bin.

That is also how I would expect the PC modules to behave but using the EQ & Compressor modes respectively, or all in one mode for all I care, just let me access them.....please.....pretty please....pretty please with sugar on it....

That's great John, thanks. If any other MCU protocol users are reading this please put a FR in as well. The more there are the more likely we are to see improvements.
