Changing drum loops to midi?

I have a tune that contains a stereo drum track using Smart Loops. Is it possible to actually change a drum loop to a midi track? I'd like to audition different drum kits instead of being stuck with the sound (Thunder Kit) in the loops.
Thanks

It is possible but the only way I know of is to use a program such as  Drumagog or toontracks  Drumtracker .
I think there is another one but can't remember it off hand.
Of course you could always rise to the challenge of trying to create the loop your self in the piano roll ?
Certainly a lot cheaper and by the time you bought and installed and read the manual and figured out how to use one of the other programs it would certainly be much quicker.

You can use Audiosnap to do that but it's not a one click operation.

    1. Load the clip and if it's a loop bounce to clip.
    2. Switch the edit filter to audio transients.
    3. You can then either...........

    a. Right click, copy as MIDI and then sort out the generated notes to the correct drum sounds in the PRV

    or

    b. Use audiosnap to Filter out/Disable all but one drum sound. i.e. Kick drum, then right click copy as MIDI, repeat for each drum sound. You'll also need to set the MIDI extraction note to correspond to the drum sound each time (audiosnap properties)

    Not ideal but doable.......

As mentioned there are quite a few progrmas designed for drum replacement, twaddle mentioned Drumtracker by Toontrack and Drumagog.  Others that do a good job at it are Trigger by Slate Audio (which comes in two flavors, EX and Deluxe - they are the same product with the difference being in how many Slate Drum samples they contain - Trigger Deluxe contains almost 2.7 GB of Slate's drums while EX has a much smaller number of the actual samples, but both come with Instrument Maker to create your own sample sets), other products are ap Trigga, and KTDrum Trigger.  There is another one that is escaping my memory at the moment, but these are quite a few options.

I've always loved this video they did for DrumTracker: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuGmGvC3t9E

While DrumTracker can require quite a bit of manual manipulation at times, I thought this video showed some of it's capabilities and also the fun that can be had with drum replacment.

Pretty sure Smartloops sells the midi loops, check your discs you may even have them.

I have all of the Smartloops midis as well, but there are alot more loops without the corresponding midis to go with it.....Frank from Smartloops confirmed this........Drumtracker looks like the way to go.......thanks!
