Strange key change when playing back imported audio files

Hi all

I have imported a collection of wav audio files in the key of D in order to build a backing track. Once I finished putting the song together I played along on my guitar only to find Sonar had changed the key to G on playback.

I don't understand why this would have happened, am I likely to have done something wrong here?

The funny thing is that if I load the audio file into my stand alone Audacity first, then save it to desktop, and then import it into Sonar, it then plays back in the correct key.

Does anyone have any ideas why Sonar is changing the key if I import the audio directly, but keeps the audio in the correct key if I first run the sample through Audacity?

Thanks

Andy

That's got something to do with sample rate mismatch, most likely, but easter sauna and brandy-coke has softened my wits so I can't figure out how exactly.

Check that soundcard and SONAR use the same sample rate. I suppose it's preferred to have the project using the same sample rate as the samples are.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
