8dio Products
Any recommendations for some of this software companies' offerings? I've been listening to the violins and some other things and I was wondering if anyone is using these third party Kontakt libraries. Adagio sounds nice, and I also liked Barbary solo vocals, offering some interesting elements of celtic, Gaelic, Irish, Scots, Welsh and Manx styles and such perhaps. I also like the epic drums.

Using Omnisphere, Trilian, Komplete 8, Morphestra, Orchestral Essentials, Evolve, Orange Tree Guitars, Addictive Drums, BFD2, Melodyne Editor, Studio One 2, Ozone 5, FabFilter.

I totally agree, Bapu. And I know you have a lot of software, and have tried different ones. Have you got any 8dio stuff? I like so many different styles of music, and these guys seem to offer some very good products that might take me in new directions.

I have yet to purchase a library from Tonehammer (the predecessor), 8Dio or SoundIron that I did love and immediately find use for. They are my goto libraries for all the extra touches!

wst3 I have yet to purchase a library from Tonehammer (the predecessor), 8Dio or SoundIron that I did love immediately find use for. They are my goto libraries for all the extra touches! I can see and hear why. They do appear to strive for excellence in whatever they produce. I feel overwhelmed with all of the new possibilities now that I've bought into Kontakt and the third party possibilities. That reminds me that I soon need to begin the long process of loading up lots of software from Komplete before I can do anything more.

I have a bunch of libraries from their old company (Tonehammer) and they're not only extremely high quality but I also find them very intuitive to use. It shows that they're composers themselves who actually use their own stuff as well...

I can tell that they are indeed composers that use their own software because they compose the very demo music that shows off their software. Both 8dio and Soundiron are notable developers with exceptional quality software and sound. I look forward to the possibility of someday owning several of their products, perhaps.

I feel like the guy who cleans tables at the country club, listening to patrons discuss the relative merits of Mercedes versus Lexus. So many excellent sample libraries out there that I can't afford, or can't justify. Requiem and several others would be on my immediate shopping list if I won the lottery, but even then I'd have to question fifty bucks for bongos.

Unfortunately the roof over my head, the food in my families bellies, and all the other necessities of life alter my desires and priorities. There are some outstanding libraries I regularly drool over, but alas, I'll have to make due until some other day.

Requiem and several others would be on my immediate shopping list if I won the lottery, but even then I'd have to question fifty bucks for bongos. I recently felt guilty getting Komplete 8. But, trust me, I make enormous sacrifices to have anything that I own. And if I do get several of any of these third party software products, it will be over a period of years. There are so many things that I don't have in order to have what I do have. I completely understand how you feel. I'll never likely have all the things that I really want. I started out 24 years ago with a little Casio keyboard, the CZ 1000 and an Amiga 500 computer and struggled and sacrificed, even later losing all of my thousands of dollars of hardware gear to sell it off- just to continue to survive, having absolutely nothing to play for a year or two, except a midi controller. I never got another keyboard again for some years 'til I bought my Korg. I never go on vacations or things like that because I've put everything I have into my music and video production. And while it is a good and very modest beginning, I have little compared to many people here. I, like you, just try to appreciate what I have and work with it.

Depending on what your looking for, check out Soundrion as well. When Tonehammer split into two seperate companies some of the product lines were split like Requim. So 8dio has their version and Soundrion has their own version (cheeper with 80 percent of the function etc). As for the quality, the Tonehammer libraries I have are impressive. Check out their newsletter/facebook page, they have good sales on from time to time.

The newsletters are great about sales and new software. There seems to be special pricing whenever new releases are available. I'm very interested in these companies. I'm looking at the Steinway Grand, having heard a lot of favorable comments and demos of it. This is one of a few on my wish [dream] list.

I'm looking forward to getting my first product from 8dio but am surprised that a 1.1 GB file will takes over 5 hours to download the RAR file. What is going on at this place?

The download tooks some time, but its all good. Everything looks and sounds amazing here. 8dio rocks! Great programming and interface. I want more! The Steinway is looking like a must-have piano, since I really don't have any stellar pianos at the time. [Komplete 8 pianos are shameful.]
