roland quad-guitar tracks not recognizing

So I bought guitar tracks 4 and had a roland quad usb 2.0 recommended to me so I bought it.I installed GTs fine and the quad. However when I try to record nothing happens, well nothing is recorded. The quad picks the guitar up fine and I can hear it through headphones but when I hit record on GT's nothing happens. Now I am really new to all of this so I am sure I am making a noob mistake.I am using a laptop too. Thanks!

You have to arm the guitar track for recording then hit record.

Make sure the Quad is connected and turned on before you start GTP4.
In Options>Audio, check that the Quad is selected as the Recording and Playback Timing Master.
Be sure you are recording to an audio track.
Have you selected the correct input for the track?
With the track armed, does the meter move when you play?
