X1 Essential and Tranzport Incompatibility?

I just upgraded to a new PC with Windows 7 and can't get my Tranzport to work with it. I installed the Tranzport 1.5.0 driver (32/64 bit) and reconfigured the Tranzport as the control surface by going to Devices and selecting the Tranzport and then going to Control Surfaces and adding the Tranzport (however, at this step, even though Tranzport-1 was the selected control surface, the software would not accept Tranzport as Input and Output. The option was in the drop down menu, but when I hit Apply the fields would clear). I tried installing the driver in Program Files/Cakewalk and Program Files(*86)/Cakewalk with no luck. The green "link" leds are lit, but the Tranzport has no control. Will I have to upgrade from X1 Essential (32 bit)to X1 Studio (64 bit)? Any suggestions will be most appreciated! Thanks!

Bart, I have the Alphatrack and love it.....I had problems getting that thing off the ground. Try the "old" Frontierdesigns forums for some help. This is a thread that helped me get my issue resolved. Maybe it will help you. (read the keneds stuff)

keneds, thank you so much! I followed your Frontier thread instructions and finally got the .dll registered. Windows 7 would not register the .dll at first, even when I was administrator. I had to boot up in safe mode to do it. Thank you again!
