    Welcome to the forum.
What's your sound card? Which version of LE are you using?
    What's your operating system?
Are you recording the guitar and vocals through microphones at the same time and expecting each to be on different tracks?

If you use the integrated soundchip or Soundblaster, it may be you have a setting called "Stereo Mix" or "Whar U hear" activated. If that's the case, everything you hear gets recorded at any track you record on on.

How do you monitor during recording -  headphones?

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

Hey Greg, and Kalle. thanks for the welcome.
I am using Windows seven and my sound card is Realtek High Definition Audio
I am recording guitar and vocal but on seperate tracks at seperate times thats why I was confused.. I am using Sonar x1 le. with the duo-capture single mike in and single output ( headphones)

Kalle I do monitor using headphones and not so great head phones at that.. I also checked and stereo mix is not checked the mic option is..

Do you mean you have Roland Duo-Capture? Very essential thing.
If so, that is your soundcard. Don't use the Realtek for ANYTHING SONAR related.
    Use Duo-Captures ASIO drivers.
Here we see again, how useful it would be to have all your system specs in the signature.

Right. The RealTek is inferior to the Roland. When you change to ASIO, that should take the RealTek out of the equation totally.
Make sure the Duo-Capture doesn't have a 'what you hear' setting, too.
