Keybindings/Shortcuts override my ability to name a patch in my VST

Keybindings/Shortcuts override my ability to name a patch in my VST. Im using Novation V-Station. Each time I try to name or rename a patch within the VST Sonar just goes nuts activating a shortcut for each alphanumeric entry. Any ideas?
