MOTU Symphonic Instrument NOT LOADING in Sonar X1 64bit!

MOTU Symphonic Instrument will not load in Sonar X1.
I've installed the latest drivers from MOTU and yet, nothing.
The VST Scan hangs at Symphonic Instrument.dll

The standalone version works fine, but that is useless to me.

This question has been posted by others and yet, no answer!
Why, Cakewalk?!!

I'm leaving this same message with MOTU.
Not happy...

you should provide more information.  what version of windows are you using?  (and make sure and specifiy if 32bit or 64bit if using vista or win7)
which version of X1?  (essentials, studio, producer, expanded and which revision?)  which bit version of X1 are you using?

are you using bitbridge or Jbridge?

if you're using a 64bit OS, is Symphonic 64bit compatible?  (I could go check for you, but you should be providing that info anyway, so I'll let you look it up).

you said you installed the latest "drivers" from MOTU, but symphonic shouldn't require "drivers" - drivers are for hardware, software update revisions are for software.  so can we assume you mean you've updated Symphonic to the latest revision or did you mean something else?

I use MOTU's Symphonic Instrument as well.  I had the same problem when I switched to a 64 bit system (version of Sonar didn't matter).  As you said, it would work in standalone mode, but not function as an instrument in Sonar.

That being said, here is the answer I got from MOTU: download UVI workstation (http://www.uvisoundsource.com/article_info.php?articles_id=8).  Once you have it installed, you will need to point the sound source to where you have the MOTU SI sound file saved.

That did the trick for me.

On a side note, I do think it is pretty weak that you have to use a third party plugin to be able to use this product.  I have been waiting for a 64 bit version (a REAL 64 bit version) of MOTU SI since 2008 now.  Still waiting...starting to wonder if they are going to discontinue the software altogether.
