I do not think that you need to do anything special to install Expanded from X1d. I believe it should install perfectly from that situation.

Hmm, I thought Expanded has to be installed on X1C and then there's a patch to take you to X1d expanded but I could well be wrong. I'm sure you'll get instructions included though but it'll be interesting if you can let us know.

Hopefully Beagle is right! hahaha. Maybe someone will chime in that knows for sure but if not, I will post the info when I find out. I have just ordered the pc so it will be at least 3 weeks.

FBB is probably right. if you're already planning on buying expanded, why don't you just tell your computer maker that and get them to add that to the cost of the system and install it for you?

I asked ADK and they said they couldn't do it. ? I don't know why, other than they don't want to spend the time on the download. I might call them again.

Why can't they do it? Seems a bit odd. Carillon in the UK installed X1 from my own discs and patched me up to X1D Expanded

Ok, he said Cakewalk hasn't provided a way for dealers to purchase expanded. They can install X1 and register it (to me), then I can buy expanded, then they can download expanded and do the updates. I don't even know for sure I need expanded but I want them to setup this system....ya know.

I guess that makes sense then. sounds like they are willing to work it out the best way possible. there were a lot of good additions with Expanded.

To keep life simple...I have ask for them to update to X1c. When I get the pc, I'll buy expanded and install it, then install X1d.
