VST plug-in help

I installed a VST program, but it's not showing up in my plug-ins.    I don't know how to route it to Program Files, so I was wondering if anyone could direct me toward a video, online article or book that will explain to me in detail exactly how to go about doing this.

Also, I have a 64-bit system, so does it go to regular Program files, or Program Files (x86)?

Thanks!
Greg

Just go into your plugin manager and set the scan options to sscna the folder in which the VST dll was installed

Also, I have a 64-bit system, so does it go to regular Program files, or Program Files (x86)?

It depends. does the plugin work in 64bit? does the plugin have 2 separate installs? one for 32 and one for 64bit?
Read the plugins documentation to see what you need to do.

    Do one of 2 things:
    1. If you know where the vst plugin is, copy it to this folder -
      c:\program files\cakewalk\vstplugins
    2. OR - In Sonar, select UTILITIES/CAKEWALK PLUGIN MANAGER - then click OPTIONS under VST config and navigate to the folder with the plugin so that it will be scanned.

    Then scan.

Yes, it says it works with Windows 7 32 or 64-bit.
