Can't install updates

I see this question has been asked, but none of the solutions seem to apply to me, so please excuse me if any one feels like I'm wasting time.

I downloaded the trial version of x1, and I'm having problems with my ASIO drivers for my fast track pro. I looked up this problem in the knowledge base, and sure enough an update addressed the very issue I'm having.
The original file I downloaded was x1b, I then downloaded x1c, and x1d and attempted to install x1c first, but I keep getting the message " Cannot locate the required version of the program on this system. Please install the correct version of the program to use this patch." So now I'm lost. I read that I might have to "roll back" certain builds, but my version says I'm using build 8 (go figure). So this version was not one of the ones on the roll back list.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Thanks

The demo of SONAR X1 cannot be updated. If you want to use the latest version(s) of SONAR, please become a registered customer.

Oh, well that sort of makes sense, but it means that since Sonar has problems with my card I can't actually fully test it without the updates. That's a bit of a bummer, but thanks for your answering me and at least now I can stop scratching my head.

What sort of issues is it having? All flavors of X1 (including the demo) should run fine with any device's ASIO drivers. However, I've had personal experience with Fast Track Pros not working with SONAR X1 in Win7 (their ASIO driver was not compatible at the time). It could be that their driver has an issue.

The problems I'm having are a bit complicated. But in a nut shell, when I got to preferences and select ASIO, it scans my system, and comes but with the not so pleasant message,
"The following audio output devices used by this project are not available. You may reassign them to any other available device, or click OK to accept the default assignments below."
Then the only option I have under Input Drivers and Devices are the generic ASIO drivers, the fast track ones are greyed out.

I've managed to access my fast track's drivers using WDM only, but this setting doesn't allow me to monitor through sonar without major stuttering, distortion and over all weirdness. I want to be able to use my ASIO drivers

I searched the knowledge base, and low and behold one of the first things in the description of the x1d update was a reference to problems using ASIO drivers with my fast track pro. I'm assuming this must be the solution.

But as I can't updated without forking out $$ first, I maybe have to wait a bit to find out.

    Any thoughts?

I am also sure to have the most recent, and windows 7 64 bit Fast Track drivers that work fine in other software.

I'm trying to go back to the update notes and find the reference to my drivers but I can't find it. Was I just making it up? I"m starting to wonder...
