Legacy plug-ins, how to access
I recently got the Scott Garrigus X1 power book and thought I'd try his method of preparing a project for export to MP3 (p 478 in my copy) to see how it compared to ones I'd done before. For EQ he uses the CW DSP-FX EQ, with precise settings laid out in 7 steps. However, this is a legacy plug-in (it's not even included in his otherwise exhaustive overview of FX in Chapter 11). How do I get access to this older plug-in in X1?
I've tried to load it from the Snr 8.5 and Snr 8 discs by doing a partial install (checked 'DSP-FX EQ' in the list). This has worked before for other old plug-ins like the CW Tuner but I must be choosing the wrong one as it's not appearing in plug-in manager or in the audio FX dropdown or the Shared Plugins Folder in Windows Explorer. If I open up the 8.5 'plug-ins overview' PDF, the plug-in is listed and described so it should be there somewhere.
(I realise I can use other EQs to imitate his settings but as he's provided precise settings and screenshots of these plugins I wanted to use this one for comparison.)
PS - he also uses the FX Compressor/gate in this process, which I also can't find, it doesn't appear to be even listed in Snr 8 or 8.5 dropdowns in the custom install.
