Clone A Track - Mainly Soft Synth As Simple Instrument Track

OK cloning a track works as intended on audio tracks, but on soft synths (as simple instrument track) when you clone a track, solo and mute etc affects both tracks as one, is there anyway when cloning to load a new instance of a soft synth with same settings and patch and keep the cloned track to operate as a separate track like normal audio tracks do?

Also Ive noticed when cloning a simple instrument track, the cloned track is split in into both audio and midi track and not as a simple instrument track.

I'm pretty sure if you have them set up initially as separate Midi & Audio tracks that the solo/mute etc remain totally independent when you clone.

Save the track you want to replicate as a template and insert new tracks using that template.
