Another video - A practical use for my multi edit screenset.......
....including some of the things that have made X1 quicker for me when inserting nodes at selection and changing envelope levels. It also includes a couple of improvements to the original screenset set up to allow fast track resizing and use of the MSR buttons. As always hope someone finds it useful or gets a bit of inspiration for their own screenset usage. Video Here

Karl, You've probably answered this a lot but if I have already dialed in alot of volumne changes and now want the entire track louder or softer, I use the Trim control. Is that what you do? Rimshot

No although there's nothing wrong with that I prefer to adjust the whole envelope. That can be done by making sure nothing is selected and then clicking in the top 25% of the track with the edit filter on "Volume envelope" and drag up or down as required. It adjusts the whole envelope while maintaining the existing nodes (which are moved as well) Another method is using offset mode, but I tend to avoid that as I only confuse myself later when I go back to the project several months later and have completely forgotten that I've used offset mode. I end up wondering why it's so hard to get decent volume out of a track, then go on a wild goose chase for a couple of hours before finally discovering that I've used offset mode.

There is also the offset mode for that. Very useful if you have a CS.

FFB, I enjoy and learn from all of your videos, especially the one on Audio Snap. Still could use a more in depth treatment of this.

Nice one, Karl, as always. It makes sense to show the MSR buttons in the CV so that the TI can be closed or moved, leaving more horizontal space...which works for envelope editing.

I watched your video last night Karl. Good job. I really like your tone of voice as you explain things. Any chance of doing a video on side chaining? Just a thought. Rimshot

Rimshot I don't profess to be an expert on side chaining but coincidentally I was using side chaining on that project I used to make that video. Real simple set up, it's a demo for a local singer who's just singing over a pre-mixed stereo wave. I'm using her vocal into the side chain of one of the PC compressors on a buss being fed the backing track. As she sings the compressor is gently knocking the backing track down a little to try and sit her voice in a bit better. Not ideal but given the limitations it's working okay and she's happy, which I guess is the main thing. I could easily run through that set up but as I said it's pretty basic.

Another fine offering there FBB! Love the idea of putting the CV on the bottom with just a little showing for exactly what you need!! Never thought of this. I could use that alone! But what really knocked me out was the way you created the nodes for the envelope. I never knew this! This is fantastic!! I was having so much trouble doing exactly what you were doing. One node/envelope at a time!! This way is MUCH easier!!

Thanks Grem. I've been banging on for a long while about the improvements in the envelope system. That nodes at selection trick is a perfect example and is worth the new system alone. I really, really wish that there was a popup over the ghosted data though, that would really help with the shift + left click when swapping envelopes. I think I ended up with about 10 or 11 envelopes on that track and without the popup switching envelopes is a bit of a lottery, or a case of reverting to the HUD. CW came up with the brilliant shift + click to change but then crippled it by not allowing the user to see what they were clicking on. Oh well here's hoping for that in X1e,f,g or X2 or whatever it'll be called
