Waveforms Disappeared

Sonar x1 producer (latest update) crashed on me yesterday. When I rebooted, the audio was still there but the graphic waveforms were missing completely on 2 of the 4 tracks I recorded and partially missing on the other 2. Just flat lines as if there was no audio.

Any way to get them back?

right click > bounce to clip should bring the waveforms back. Be careful that you don't bounce anything you don't want to bounce (effects etc).

If the audio still plays back and it's just the wave pictures that are missing, you can either delete the files in your Picture Folder and force Sonar to recalculate the wave images, or you can highlight individual audio clips, press Shift+k and then press the Recompute Pictures button on the dialog box that comes up.

Thanks Step - I left a couple of bundles unbounced to clip, I'll try your way too.

You shouldn't need to actually bounce the clip. At the bottom of the right click menu is the option Associated Audio Files. Select that, and click "Recompute Pictures" in the box that appears.

I had this problem , then followed the advice on an old thread and deleted all the files in the picture folder and it was instant fix.

I'd not run into it before, but had been doing a lot of video work and so it had filled up.

"Shift K" became my go-to to find additional clip information in the Associated Audio Files menu as well.

I didn't have to do anything as it turned out. When I loaded the tune with the unbounced tracks that didn't have the wave pictures from a bundle it redrew them all by itself. That was a surprise. But I'll remember 'recompute pictures' box if it ever happens again. Thanks everybody.

Yeah, it's often self correcting, this issue.
