I caught that one over at muffwiggler's forum.

There seems to be a lot of highend audio guys who buy into it though....

There's a whole quasi-religion around magic cables. I find it's best to leave them to it.

I like THIS ONE as well!

Nordost must certainly be one of the most insane Audiophool companies out there...

That power cord is an appealing deal. 2.5m for 12 grand, but if you got 5m, the second half is only 8 grand. That's a third off!

Man, I could really plug something in with that. And plug it in five metres from the socket! That's some serious pluginification right there. Money's an issue though. What can you sell your kidneys for these days?

I think you'll find some of us can notice the difference. Although that may not necessarily be in audio quality.

They drop four grand every 2.5 metres, so they'll pay you if you get the 30m. I think.

So the bulk of the cost is in the connectors.

Wait til the audiophools suss that.

Last pair I bought, I chopped the ends off and put some decent ones on. Was that a silly thing to do then?

Get some Hosa cables. They are a nice bit of kit. Except for the connectors that is.

I think they need some Brilliant Pebbles though...

Brilliant pebbles are still only $159 for the X-large pack, though! This leads me to believe there must be a market possibilty for higher-end pebbles...

Seriously, I suspect that the people who actually buy these cables aren't audiophiles/phools at all. They're all oil sheikhs or similar having sound systems installed in the lounges of their 500 ft yachts. They don't care about sound quality, they only like to brag about how much they're spending...
