The Wealth of Jeff Evans.
Jeff Evans has friends. I don't know how much that's worth... so I'm gonna say: Priceless! Now, the rest of you can be nice or show your true colors. ;-)

I've aways found Jeff's posts, especially in the techniques forum very helpful and informative. What he thinks of Sonar is frankly irrelevant. (We're all wrong sometimes ) <---That's a joke BTW.

Jeff sometimes say thing in a way that make me uncomfortable. Like "Me and Bob Katz happen to think that..." But the more posts I read, the less important that became. He has the knowledge, he's helpful - much more than I can ever hope to be. I certainly appreciate his presence on these boards. I learn a lot reading his posts. Me and the Dalai Lama happen to like helpful people. ;) Oh, and Me and Jeff both use Logic and Pro Tools but still prefer to hang around on Cakewalk's forums.

I'm pretty much with Rain on this. I've even discussed Jeff's delivery style with him which he took with good grace and provided thoughtful explanation. Some of us though are not motivated in a way where being popular is important, so style is of as much relevance as whether you refuse a perfectly nutritious and fortifying meal just because it isn't your favourite tasting one. What does come across as undeniable is Jeff's good nature, his willingness to learn as well as teach. He is undoubtedly enthuiastic about his music as he is about his and others methods of producing it. He is most certainly the kind of person I'd like to be able to get to know as a freind. His views on how other applications seem to just work concur with my own also, I still enjoy using Sonar but it has enlightened me to learn there are many things you can use that work as advertised without resorting to some eccentric seeming workarounds, that also offer the means of working in specific ways that are not available if I was restricted to using Sonar. Does that make sense or does it make me the 'traitor' that some would make me out as being?

Possibly. Although, I'm old enough to know that people of a certain youthful age have always thought new was somehow, well... "new", if you know what I mean, and then they later feel what was "new" has become "old". The whole "new" thing is tediously "old" if you know what I mean.

I have only just found this thread and I am quite amazed. Thanks again. I appreciate being appreciated. I do enjoy these forums because of the quality of most of the people here. I enjoy helping with advice and stuff. I tend to hang around in the Techniques area a bit where I think most of the stuff I may talk about will work in any DAW. I am interested in music production. I enjoy teaching it too as part of my work. All of the advice I give is based around pure practical application and my own experiences. When I teach I also teach from that point of view. I appreciate any feedback about myself and try to learn from it. You can only get better. Thanks for being my friends. I hope to meet you some day when it is possible.

Late to the party as usual (got lost again - damn directions...). I will only add that whenever I find some trick or bit of technique that is useful that I tend to keep it for later use or contemplation. Several that I've saved have Jeff's name on them.
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

Hey bapu sorry to change the topic but my son played with Paul Grabowsky last night in Perth. You may not know who Paul is but he is Australia's finest pinao player. His band represents the finest in the Australian Jazz scene and it does not get any better. I know Paul sent him the charts a month ago and Jacob has been studying them hard. At the rehearsal yesterday he played one of his tunes perfectly and Paul shook his hand and said that was amazing. I have not spoken to him yet but I am confident the gig went well. Jacob is not in his band as such but has been hired in Perth to do three shows with Paul. A good start anyway. Sorry to sound so proud. Some people talk about drums and art and technique. Jacob has simply got both under control and that is why he is so good to listen to live. I am heavy on the art side of drums and less technique. Some drummers have got oodles of technique and no art but some very lucky ones have got both and that is when it is a perfect balance. He is also about to tour with Rob Hurst from the states too here in Australia. That will be cool. Thanks again for the kind words from people.
