Sonar X1 and Octa Capture - Dropping Audio Signal from Soft Synths

I have a very strange issue/problem.  This has been going on ever since I installed my OCTAPUS about 4 months ago.

The audio from KONTAKT keeps totally going SILENT which require a REBOOT/RESTART to get SONAR to work again... since this has been going on for so long I noticed that upon stopping recording or playback, if I start the playback or recording again too fast, the audio drops out.

I have audio files playing back on a different pair of outputs of the OCTAPUS and these continue to work fine.. just the KONTAKT instruments audio get FUBAR'ed.

But, if upon stopping playback and recording, I wait about 5 seconds, the audio works fine.  So, it seems like some type of issue with me trying to start playback too soon after stopping playback.

I know that this sounds weird but I was wondering if there is a setting that can help this situation out?

Jim

PS - I have the OCTAPUS set with the most latency possible which seems to have helped a bit but I am getting super frustrated with this audio card.

I would go into your Son rprefernces and go into Playback and Recording. Its under the MIDI tab.
Then raise your Prepare using Millisecond buffers to 500 or 600 or 700.

    Thank me,

CJ... its not the midi buffers (they are set at like 1000ms)... it is something to do with AUDIO... my first two audio outputs go DEAD (not only do the soft synths not play but audio tracks also do not play), the others with AUDIO tracks (outputs 3&4) still work.

It is very strange... this always leads to a SONAR NOT RESPONDING condition.  But, if I wait a few seconds to start playback again from when I stopped the playback, all is fine... I have learned to be patient using X1 and this sound card. No more hitting the space bar twice to end and start the playback again.. it is hit the spacebar... wait 3 seconds and then hit the spacebar... then all is OK.
