My Prayers to Robin Gibb and his family
The odds are probably not in his favor, but I'm saying some prayers for him and his family. Cancer is an epidemic, but he has fought it valiantly. He and his brethren gave us all some amazing songs and sounds. I hope he pulls through.

chuckebaby great musician, great songwriter, just changed the way music was played, listened to. my prayers also with him. just out of curiocity, why this in the x1 forum and not the coffee house? I had thought about posting it NOT in the X1 main forum, but I felt he deserved/earned the right to be honored as a musician and human at the highest level. I certainly think - and hope - most would agree. A human's life of such contribution should not be debated about which forum is most appropriate to honor the man, in my humble opinion. If you feel I'm wrong about this, I humbly apologize and would suggest we don't make this thread about which forum better suits the topic for the moment. That job is for the moderators, I'd think.

Rimshot Thank you Billy. His sound was a part of this country's culture for many years. Rimshot The Bee Gees were innovators. That ain't an easy trick, as a crazy comedian once said ;) One of the great and beautiful things about music and recordings in general is that legacies live on. And Robin and his brothers certainly have an immense legacy that extends way beyond borders.

My prayers are with him and his family. I commend you Jind. Someone very close to me is fighting the Cancer battle now, and supposedly there is no 'cure' for his type of cancer (even with chemo and radiation treatments), so I can only imagine what it's like to live with that every day. I know his battle has made me and everyone who knows him much more aware of how huge an epidemic it is, and how devastating it can be. You obviously have a very strong life force within you to have beaten it twice. I hope you continue to have that force as your life goes on, Jind.

Thanks for the kind words and my thoughts and prayers are with your loved one in this fight for their life. I was diagnosed in 2004 with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia with a very aggressive sub type, given a very low chance of survival, a Bone Marrow Transplant my only treatment plan as chemo alone had an almost zero percent chance of any lasting remission. I remained in remission for three years after my first BMT and relapsed. I was given the gift of life from the same anonymous donor once again with a second BMT. This November, God willing, I will reach my fifth anniversary of my second shot at life. Until there is none, there is always hope my friend. I had a doctor tell me once to not pay attention to statistical percentages or odds of survival - you are either a 100 percent or a 0 percent, there is no in between, you either survive or you don't. Again, my thought and prayers are with you and your loved one. Be well.

Again, my thought and prayers are with you and your loved one. Be well. There are some amazingly great stories of survival from Cancer, and, of course, there are a lot of sad ones. SO I agree - the statistical stuff almost becomes meaningless. Each life has its own "groove", if you will; and for those who like to attribute things to a diety, god bless them. I personally don't know if there is or isn't a god. I do know that there is life and the life force within. Believing in that seems to do more good than not, so I go with that. COngrats on your upcoming 5th year. That is a major milestone. Keep doin' Jind :)
