Here's another song from my upcoming CD project. The song is "The Daily News" and every line in the verses came from a 15 minute news cycle of a "Major" news outlet. I didn't change a word. I couldn't make this stuff up.... The Daily News Hope you like it and thanks for listening and any comments/critiques.

I love the lyrics to this. Even if you ripped them from the headlines, it still takes skill to put them together artistically. Overall, the mix seems a little over compressed, but the performances are terrific. Nicely done.

Thanks Lynn, much appreciated.
I think the vocals in particular are over compressed, I really need to fix that. I may end up having to redo the bass part, I had to squash the heck out of it to get the tone I wanted and to get it to fit in the mix.

Song kinda grows on you. I like the offbeat dissonant Bowie like vocals and chorus.
The mix is pretty good for the most part.
This is up for debate, and a personal feeling, so take it with a grain of salt: my only criticism is I am not a fan of the vibrato in most of the vocals. Vibrato can make or break a song, and in this case, its close to breaking it. I would prefer more even vocals in the verse.

It's funny, I've always felt the same as you about vibrato in vocals, particularly in my own. I guess I really haven't paid enough attention to the vox in this song because I never really noticed and vibrato in it. I'll have to give it aanother look with that in mind.

Hey Bob. Really cool idea with the headlines etc. You really put it all together nicely.
My only nit would be the snare sound just was starting to grate on me. Maybe try some more creative stuff like that sound on 2 and 4 and 2 other sounds on 1 and 3. idunno. Just guessing here. Like the tune muchly.

Sounds overly compressed to me.
The bass sounds rubbery to me.
I wished the verse melody sounded more European.
I liked the chorus.
Guitar solo tone is killer.

Yea Bowie is the sound I get from this tune of yours , great lyrics , great sound , great lead guitar playing along with great vocals make this tune a hit with me !
This one caught me by surprise , yes it does grow on you . Great job creating this song , I enjoyed it !

Great song, love it. As soo as it started I thought wow, Steve Vai guesting how cool is that.  Then I nearly fell off my chair when David Bowie started singing.  They are all compliments BTW. I thought mix wise the bass was a little low on my system but seeing as everyone always says there's too much in mine I think that's more likely a problem with my system rather than your mix. Great concept for a song as well, very clever.
