Am I imagining this Toontrack shift?

I just picked up the Americana EZX, which sounds great. But I was surprised - and a little disappointed - at how few midi patterns it came with. Then I noticed on Toontrack's website that they have the Americana midi packs on sale separately. I remember thinking how comprehensive the Nashville and Vintage EZX midi was. Is this the way things are going? If so, it's just good to know, as picking up an EZX for $39 isn't quite the same bargain if there's another $29 to spend on midi to go with it!

    You're going to find that the midi grooves are much longer now.  This allows the grooves to breathe a little.  They are more in song format with verse, chorus, bridge formats.  I've never sat down and made comparisons but I wouldn't be surprised if there are as many bars of grooves in the three examples you mentioned. 

    The value would be based on whether or not you prefer to take a 1-4 bar groove and repeat it over and over again or would like 8 - 16 bars that vary a little.  I know that I petitioned for the longer grooves because they feel more natural to me.

    I believe the midi in the Americana midi pack is the same as what comes with the Americana EZX.
