Dimension Pro and Total Rex No Brainer

Greetings; I bought Zero-G's TOTAL REX on sale this past weekend (5 Gigs of REX loops for $35), and i'm amazed at how well these loops play w/ Dimension Pro.

Basically, you can drag and drop a REX loop onto Dimension Pro, and lower keys centered around C2 will play the whole loop, while individual slices are automatically mapped to ascending keys starting at C1.

Though i haven't tried this yet, presumably you can drop a different REX loop onto different DP layers. This ability to easily slice and dice REX Loops makes Dimension Pro suddenly look alot more useful.

Regards
Glenn

Yeah, SONAR provides quite a bit of REX support. You can use Dim Pro, RXP, or even drag the loops directly into the Track view.

Cool ... thanks for the tip! I've been using the Browser to audition and drag the Beatscape content. But I didn't know you could play them in Dim Pro.

I'm still considering picking this up.  The fact that they play well with dim pro makes me more likely to pick up for only $35

Are you trying to do drag and drop from inside X1?

I've done this operation only using Dim Pro in standalone mode, dragging REX loops directly from my samples folders onto the Dim Pro GUI -- i've been aiming more or less for the waveform section of the synth, but i'm not sure whether the drop location makes a diff.

Glenn...thanks for the response. It seems to be working now from within Sonar's browser. Not sure why it did not work yesterday. I picked up the Total Rex. No real cutting edge stuff but a worthwhile pickup at just $35. Having a number of classic breakbeats in Rex format is worth the price alone if you do any jungle or drum and bass work.
