Difficulty installing SONAR Home Studio 7 XL Pack

I haven't used my SONAR Home Studio 7 software in awhile, and I recently re-installed it after some hardware upgrades and an upgrade to Windows 7.  The Home Studio 7 software installs fine.  But when I tried to install the XL pack the progress bar gets almost to completely done, and then it crashes right before it completes.  I've tried running the .exe as an administrator, and also disabling Microsoft Security Essentials which was running in the background, and the issue remains.  I have NOT tried installing only certain features, because preferably I would like them all, and if my hardware/software can't support some of them, I'm not knowledgeable enough to know what's what here.

    are you installing from an internal or external DVD drive?  if external, it might be having problems with data transfer.

    make sure the disc is clean on the data side, smudges and finger oils will cause a disc to be difficult to read.  but don't just use your shirt to clean it, either.  you need a high thread count, smooth cloth that won't leave dust (not a kleenex).

    try rebooting before trying to install.

    check your background processes and see what's running. something might be interferring.  look at the processes in the taskmanager.
