Click on the metronome icon to get to settings (or thru preferences) - you can output to any bus you like. In this case, create a new bus named Metronome and route to that bus.

strikinglyhandsome1 Think he means he's hidden it and wants to get it back on screen. In the old version, it's 'm' for 'track manager' and tick the box for metronome. You can also right click the console area and show/hide tracks appears, which leads you to the track manager as well. If you wanted something else then you've wasted my time but £20 via Paypal should cover it. noreply@strikeisgreat.com I thought for X1 the track manager was "h"?

Exactly - hence why I said the old version. I've no idea what it is in X1 as I'm on 8.5.3 recurring - I did guess in my head it would be different because I'm always reading people moaning about new shortcuts. I will, however, edit my original post though to avoid utter tosh concerning X1.

What's with all these letter changes? H for Hanager. I won't upgrade while this exists. I'm off to Grim.

This thread reminds me of the old joke of going to a boxing match and a hockey game broke out. Maybe the OP will clear up whether he cleverly hid the metronome bus and forgot what he did. Or, as in my case I delete that bus to get it out of the way, but can put another one in there anytime I choose. I too don't get the correlation of H for track manager. But I do like using M for markers. Keeps X1 and SF on the same keystroke.

"H" is for "Hocus pocus" which is what we magicians say to have things appear and re-appear. It's widely used for rabbits and pigeons but apparently it has a positive effect when hiding and un-hiding audio, MIDI and instruments tracks as well in a DAW. It even extends to buses. I though that would be very clear to everyone. That's how I remember it anyway BTW - I'm not a magician so I might be wrong.

Well I press 'H' in 8.5.3 recurring and I get a picture of a horse?! What's that all about?

As long as it's something expected when pressing the "H" key. Imagine if you got a picture of a cow!! That would be nonsense!

St Trinians was the other way around. It starts of as a hockey match and they end up boxing. I could watch those matches for days on end.
