Key Binding - unbinding frustration

I am trying to register an update for one of my VST plug-ins (Uhbik effects suite). This requires me to type in the rego details (it doesn't accept copy/paste). My problem is that I can't unbind the keys in Sonar X1 - every time I type the "i" in my name it opens/closes the inspector, etc.

I have tried numerous variations of Edit>Preferences>Key Bindings>Zap all>apply etc, BUT nothing gets rid of the bindings, so I can't type in my rego details.
Does anyone know how to suspend all key bindings so you can type normal letters?

I think you might solve this by clicking on the "Give all keystrokes to plug-in" icon that's at the top right of the plug-in GUI

It looks like the OP has tried something like that already.
