Dynaudio BM5A Mkll surprise (and I mean unpleasant)
I would think monitors that cost $800 a pair would blow me out of my seat.......the more I'm listening to some tracks the more I'm beginning to be a little underwhelmed at the tone.......a little dull in the mids and a little boxy in the lows

I'm not giving up on them.....this was just a first impression....we'll see after a week

I've had my Dynaudio BM5A's for about 4 years. Some of the best monitors I've had for around $999.00. Sorry to hear the bad news.

Perhaps your mix is a little dull in the mids and a little boxy in the lows?

Jeff: I ran 30 tunes through the Dynaudios, some mixes sounded better than others......and I certainly know what I'm doing when it comes to tracking and getting it right the first time......I'm going to say that because I've used NS10's for years that my ears must be playing tricks on me......I'm accustomed to forward mids in a monitor and that's exactly what I don't want at this point, which is why I picked the Dynaudios in the first place.....I wanted something as natural as possible without that ported flabby bass that I can't stand. I ran some Steely Dan tunes through it as well....I'll keep burning them in later this weekend....thanks for everyone's thoughts

I can appreciate this. I have NS10m burned into my eardrums, as well. Everything else sounds weird to me.

Ditto. I sure hope they last another 30 years! I'm thinking of putting them away at night in a climate controlled safe.
