Audio Clip Fade Problem with Sandy Bridge Processor
Reposting this as it was buried at the end of an older thread... Can anyone tell me if the audio clip-fade silence issue has been resolved in X1d? I'm thinking of upgrading to X1 and I'm evaluating the latest web trial version (x64) of which I believe is based on X1b (not sure about that though). The trial version looks more like a downgrade than an upgrade. The problem I'm seeing is that on most clips, not all, if I try to add a fade curve (any shape, start or end), instead of a fade, all I hear is silence. The wave shape display tails nicely on screen if that's set in prefs but the sound is just dead for the whole of the fade area. I haven't been able to establish any reason why some clips are not affected but most are. As noted by Skyline_UK in another thread, If I check 'stretch to tempo' in the 'groove clip' section of a clip's inspector panel, the fade can suddenly be heard. I'm running the trial on Windows 7 64bit ultimate on a Dell XPS laptop with an i7 Sandy Bridge processor. I'm hoping someone who has encountered this problem and KNOWS that it has been fixed can let me know before I waste money on an 'upgrade'. I'd also like to know if anyone knows a way to reduce the size of the X1 control bar and its controls :)
