Sonar X1 and Octa Capture Issues FIXED
I posted awhile ago about some serious audio problems with my X1 DAW.... the audio was acting very strangely, requiring a reboot of my entire system. I wasn't sure what the issue was but the symptoms were something like... audio files would play on some outputs and audio/softsynth on output pair 1 would just cease to work... then SONAR would go into the NOT RESPONDING routing... BAM REBOOT again.
This was happening all the time and especially if I had the spacebar too quickly from stop play to start play.
Anyway, the OCTA has new drivers (version 1.5) and after installing these updates, ALL OF THE SONAR issues have DISAPPEARED.
The installation process isn't that clean and I suggest you thoroughly read up on the procedures to update... you have to update the FIRMWARE in the OCTA before you update the WIN drivers.
The surprising thing to me about this is SONAR and ROLAND are the same company and they failed to mention anywhere that the first set of drivers (version 1) does not play well with SONAR and that the update fixes said issues. If they have, I wasn't able to locate this information anywhere on the internet.
But, thought I would just pass this along if anyone experiences the same or similar issues with their OCTA and SONAR.
