Adding FX while recording audio question

In Scott's book, in chapter 5, page 69, I think it implies that with both audio and midi recording  you add fx to the track while you are recording the same way, which is by right clicking in the FX bin

I don't seem to have the FX bin available with audio tracks,
Is it just that the text is ambiguous ( steps 7 and 8) and the real situation is for audio tracks you send to send the audio to a bus to apply FX while recording?

First off I don't recommend inserting an FX while recording. However, to see the FX bin be sure in the Track Control Manager has mix selected. Its the little menu just above the track headers next to the time readout. Its default is custom and that doesn't show the FX bin. Another is use the Track Inspector. It will have the FX bin displayed.

FX while recording is only useful for monitoring. It will not effect the recorded audio.

Thanks, and I really only wanted to monitor the sound with Fx when recording as you suggested
