Help! - Removing Audiosnap -

Can anyone tell me how to remove all audiosnap data from a project? I have a large project and the project file is apparently bloated with audiosnap transients which were generated simply because I engaged transients mode on a long track with multiple lanes of takes. I haven't even modified any transients or activated any audiosnap processing but the project file is now a massive 400+ MB.

OK I think I know why this project file is so big. I was looking at the transients mode on a track that has about an hour's worth of about 6 take lanes. I didn't even modify any transients but I think that immediately added 100s of MBs to the project file size.  Now I have to figure out how to reverse it. I didn't use audiosnap or anthing. Nothing has been added to the project other than a ton of tabulated transient data in the file.

So my new question is.. how do I remove all that surplus data from the project file?

Unfortunately I can't answer your direct question, because I've not that close to AS. However, I'd like to be assured there really is a project size abnomaly.

A large project, you say, but still only 400 Mb?? Not knowing what it consists of, I can't actually say if it's "big to it's size", but when I make a normal project of about 35 tracks, 50/50 MIDI and audio, the projects are about 1-2 gigabytes.

400 Mb is equivalent to half an audio CD, which means something like 8 stereo tracks.

I'm writing this because I've seen dozens and dozens of threads about project size where the OPs think something abnormal is going on, when everything is just as it should be. They just haven't thought of that 10-15 audio tracks can make a Gb.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

I'm back in business! I cleaned out the file. By opening the project in Sonar 5 and saving it as new CWP it's now just 875 KB! LOL. Thanks Jonesy, I didn't want to bounce to clips because I want to retain full editing capability and maximum sonic integrity. It would probably have taken ages also. I now have to check but the hopefully only thing I've lost apart from the garbage is the clip grouping I did. Fortunately that's won't be a huge problem though coz I colour coded everything. Does anyone know a way to completely prevent X1 from scanning transients? I mean disable the Audio Transients edit filter mode. I'd hate to accidentally activate it again! Having to use an older version of Sonar to fix this problem is clearly ridiculous. There should be a way to do it with X1.

Glad you got it sorted, however part of your post confuses me.

What is it you think you'll lose by bouncing to Clip. Note this is totally different from Bouncing to TRACK

Also, you can, and should in most circumstances, activate Audio Transients on a Track by Track basis - there's no way on earth you could accidentally activate them on every track! (Unless you had all tracks selected, hit the Edit Filter > Transients button whilst holding Control down)

Audio Transient mode scans and stores data for transients on every lane of a track. I can't be sure what I did but I think the near-fatal error was activating it on one track has about 8 takes running for over an hour each... all chopped up in to sub-clips too!

Many of the clips currently have rough edits, fades, trims etc. I wouldn't want render them all as they are.
