Record track with EZ Drummer

I'm obviously missing something.  I tried to record using EZ Drummer for the first time, it plays and I hear it through my Octa-Capture audio out but nothing records on the track.  What do I have to do, to get an EZ Drummer track in a project?

How are you trying to record it?  if you're clicking on the kit pieces and expecting that to record then that's not the way it works.  have you used Session Drummer in X1?  the basics of EZD is exactly the same.

you can insert an instance of EZD with either one output or multiple outputs. the MIDI track is the trigger for the drum sounds.  you can then audition drum patterns by clicking on the GROOVES button at the bottom of the screen.  when you find something you like, click and drag on the name of that groove to the MIDI track and place it on the MIDI track in the time that you want that groove to play.  repeat as desired.

It uses drag and drop grooves. The play button on EzDrummer is for auditioning the patches. To record your own playing you need a midi controller like a keyboard or padKontrol etc.

Plenty of tutorial videos on youtube if you need more help.

Just grab a groove right off the menu and drag it onto a track. Done. Then you can stretch it out and/or edit it accordingly.

This is what I do.  Just grab the midi file/groove right from EZDrummer's grooves and drag it into the midi source track [if you are using a midi source track] that feeds EzDrummer.

Good luck.  You will enjoy the wide variety of libraries available in EZX Expansions.  The Nashville EZX is one you might want to purchase in the future.

Dragging sounds like the way to go.  I'll give it a try.

    Thanks.
