Question for the bass players and drummers out there

So, I keep hearing this story but maybe you guys can fill me in on who was in each roll, ya?

A bass player and a drummer carpooled to the gig together.

Now who locked the keys in the car, and who was locked in for over an hour until help arrived to get him out?

Sadly, both. It was a case of mis-timing.

No, that would have been a case of mis-tuning.

The drummer locked himself in when the bass player flipped out.

It's a trick question.  The odds against a bass player showing up at a gig are astronomical.

Would be rather scary and spooky if someone was locked in, when the locks are done from the inside mostly.

So the joke must have been that the person that locked himself/herself in the car, didn't want to be there, or the band intoxicated that person so bad to make sure that person sit out the set!

Looks like a bad story to me!

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

Or the joke could be how the car is a metaphor for society and the "bass play" is too confined by the standard AM/FM radio ga ga but struggled for hours to be free only to find he had the key all the time. The key was inside him and not the band.

But now that he was free to express himself musically (after AAA opened the door; AAA being the metaphor for the Gong CD he played while waiting for the car to be "unlocked") the band kicked him out and found a solid bass player that only knew root notes. So now this bass player goes around to band auditions extolling the virtues of non-time/tempo based art/music only to find that 99.9999868765697585 of the bands out there could care less about that bullyshirt music (as they call it). These bands tell him that the people want "Party Like It's 1999" and "Brown Sugar" so they can boogie until they drop.

Now the bass player sits all alone in his one bedroom apartment unsure of himself and music all together.

    He wept.

Obviously the bass player was locking the others out.

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

I find it odd that the band was not compelled to find the drummer and bass player. Something sinister there as well. Also if the drummer was female and bass player male, that might explain them being locked in the car with the keys and yet not wanting to get out.

That brings up the obvious question, was the bass player wearing a Falconer's Glove?

You guys make it too complicated! Of course it was the drummer who locked himself in the car!! Why on earth would they make so many drum machines and drum sample libraries, drum loop CD's and what have you, if the drumers of the world could actually get out of a car?
