Sonar X1 audio snap - replacing drums with midi
I'm an audio snap noob and need help replacing my live drums with midi drums. I've seen a youtube video explaining this in Sonar 8.5 but this doesn't seem to help me in Sonar X1. I'm using superior drummer 2.3 if that matters. Can someone please help me by explaining a step by step tutorial or possibly making a video tutorial? Thanks in advanced! Sincerely, -audio snap noob

Its also good to try and just use the midi to compliment the existing audio tracks as well

Sometimes consider using eq to filter out a good trigger track. If you have a lot of snare bleed in your kick track, you might get away with a low pass filter to try and cut some of those snare transients out and leave just the kick. Same kind of thing can be said for a snare track with too much kick in it. In this instance, I would simply duplicate the track in question then apply eq to the clip and bounce it before applying audio snap. Obviously it's going to take a bit of trail and error, but in some cases this just may be a great tool to get you through. Also if you're blending the sampled drums with your live drums, make sure your phase is appropriately aligned or flip the phase if you need to. Nothing worse than losing your kick drum due to phase cancellation!
