Can someone help me with Session Drummer please

Hi,

I loaded in SD3 and looked at the Piano Roll View, clicked on "Tamb" but it sounded like a splash cymbal. I loaded a tambourine sound onto the drum pad in the SD3 interface, and now a few of the rows in the Piano Roll View sound like a tambourine.

Can I associate specific sounds from the
"Program Files/Cakewalk/Vstplugins/Session Drummer 3/Contents/Kits folder"
with a rows of my choosing in the Piano Roll View without using the SD3 main interface?

I'd like to build a set including specific hand percussion, more than what's available on the four sections of the drum pad.

Thanks,
Sam

I'm sure someone who speaks better "sonareze' than i will give a better explanation, but the reason that the sounds are mapping across multiple keys in piano roll view is many of the samples in SD3 are multi-samples that are mapped to multiple notes.  if you right click on a drum in the mixer view in SD3, you will see which notes the samples correspond to. The samples in SD3 kits are in SFZ format, so you can make similar kits by creating sfz files with the desired samples mapped to the desired notes.  Your issue highlights, what i feel is a need for Sonar to have a Kontakt style full featured sampler for easily creating drumkits in the manner you describe.  My solution for what you have been attempting is to use a third party sampler.  i have been using Short circuit, which is free but unfortunately still 32-bit.  It does work well via bitbridge and it's fairly easy for me to map samples to whatever notes i wish and even stack them if i want without editing sfz files.

Well thanks dubdisciple, that explains what's going on. I can work with that. I think you did a great job explaining that by the way.
