I really admire people who aren't afraid to take a risk and go out on a limb.  This seems to be as unconventional of a piano-pop song as I've heard in a while.  Forgive the pun, but this could be a gem of a song with the right mix.  I had a hard time understanding the words which were below the volume of the piano throughout.  The voice sounds good, but just overwhelmed.  The piano may be over compressed, which doesn't let the song breathe with dynamics.  The reverb is a bit heavy, but that's just my opinion.  The chord progression and the melody are a bit off the beaten path, which is why it's so important to be able to hear the melody over the pounding of the piano.  I think this deserves another mix.

    All the best,
    Lynn

Thank you Lynn. I'm a bit self-conscious of my voice...but you're right. I may take another stab at it.

You have a great voice. Let it stand out. Neat tune. I enjoyed this.

This is a very cool song.  You need to bring that voice up in the mix!

    I agree with Lynn's comments.

I hear ya with the vocal shyness thing - being a non-singer I was the same for ages, but if you want your mixes to sound right then you just have to get over that somehow. In the end I just told myself - hey, it's just the internet - it's not like I'm gonna walk down the street tomorrow and there'll be people pointing at me laughing and saying.....look there's that stupid guy that thinks he can sing from the cakewalk forum. Even if they could, most of them probably couldn't do any better and wouldn't have the guts to even try, so just be the best you can and to hell with it. I never even think about it now.
