Disposing of prisoners? Memory Wipe?

Hypothetically, let's say you needed to release some prisoners due to overcrowding.  Should you wipe their memories before setting them free?

I mean, you wouldn't want them to find their way back.  You can waste half your day driving them out into the middle of the woods to let them go.  Then, there's all that whining and complaining to deal with.

Wiping their memories would be real time saver.  It's safe, too.  I was going to try it on myself, but I don't think I got around to it.  In other news, I seem to have lost a few weeks.  I don't know why...

Hang on.  They're getting riled up again.  I hope it's not another escape attempt.  They make so much noise when they reach the electric fence.  If they get past that, the panthers tend to quiet them down.

Hypothetically, of course.

Something like a formatting a HD without loading Windows....

I wasn't sure if the prisoners are releasing themselves or being released due to the overcrowding? (Not that it matters....roight?)

If I ever get released from here I'm going to share my thoughts on this subject provided I can remember what they are.

OK … so what if you are a prisoner in your own mind?  Would erasing your mind set you free?  It just sounds cliché to me.

Personally, I’ve set myself free by erasing my mind on several occasions over the years, only to be recaptured again (and usually ending up in solitary after that just bouncing the ball against the wall).

    FYI,

Tossing them out of a moving vehicle may be efficient, but it can be considered to be Unsightly.  Generally, I prefer the "Drop From a Bridge" method.  You don't have to listen to the screaming for very long.  If the river is fast enough, they don't pile up.  You can make a game out of it.  You know, points for Biggest Splash, Highest Bounce, Best Form...

What if you have multiple personalities? ....and a few of them remind the others of what just happened and then a few start to claim PTSD.......

Wow, that’s a complicated situation ripe for a Law and Order episode.  If one personality truly is a convicted prisoner for some dastardly deed but other personalities are free of guilt and are also prisoners … they are prisoners unjustly.

I think the mind’s legal system would have to take that one all the way to its equivalent of a Supreme Court.

Not need to contravene any Geneva Conventions. Although as Stalin once said "A man exists, a problem exists- no man, no problem." Simply let them go and when they tell there tales say "What would you expect a hardened criminal to say?". Marginalise- I think that's a word. Not sure about the ethics though.

My mind has several high court judges.

All of them are confirmed loonies.

My mind doesn't have a Supreme Court anymore.  Instead, we have the Council of Jesters.  There are a lot of similarities.  Both enjoy hot apple pie with melted cheddar cheese on top with ice cream piled on top of that and surrounded with becan.

    (I'm quite hungry right now.)

The Council hears the most important cases.  Usually, verdicts are rendered on the basis of the entertainment value of the argument.  The loser gets a wedgie and is whacked with a squeaky toy.  The winner not only gets whacked with a squeaky toy, but also gets two wedgies.

Bonus points can be awarded for theatricality, but drifting into an excess of Drama can result in being forced to watch an hour of Lifetime.

If, at any time, members of the Council grow bored, they may pelt the attorneys with frogs.  Needless to say, this is highly insulting to the frogs.

At Random O'Clock, the Council's Master of the Fuzzy Dice will declare, "Piggy Pile!"  At that moment, all other business ceases and everyone leaps towards the Becan tray. In the ensuing battle, most laws are passed.

It's a far more sophisticated system.
