Deleting projects and Templates

Hi, I started using Sonar last week and started by choosing 'normal' and named a few projects- one at a time while figuring out what to do. Then I wanted to delete them. I did not save any audio so I do not have these files to 'clean'. What I did was go to 'open files' and right clicked on them and got them deleted. But I see that the names of the projects are still listed at the bottom of 'file'.How do I get rid of the names? Also,I decided to create a template of my liking but now when I open Sonar and choose that template name a box pops up that says TEST 12 is invalid and the path does not exist. That was one of the previous project files I deleted. What is this about. Also, how do I delete the custom template I made so maybe that error box will go away upon creating a new one? I did search in the manual but can't seem to come up with the info. Isn't that something.

To delete the project from the File menu's recently accessed projects list:

With Sonar closed, delete the folder from the filesystem  (the folder set in your Preferences > File Section > Folder Locations). When you re-open Sonar they will still appear under the File menu. Click on the one you deleted. You'll get a pop-up dialog like the following. Once you've clicked OK it will be removed from the File menu's recently accessed projects.

Alternatively if you are comfortable using reg edit navigate to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\X1\Recent File List" and delete them from there.

I'll go back and select them all. I looked in the manual but saw no info on deleting files after typing into the index form. Why is that?

Without intending to sound the least bit patronising - what did you expect?

You delete something and then question why you're getting an error message?

    What is this about?

I had said that I clicked on the custom template I created and upon clicking on it a previously deleted TEST 12 came up. What's that about? kBy the way, I started practising at TEST 9. Arbitrary names.

Hi, I found out after calling Tech to go to: C:\Cakewalk Content\SONAR X1 Essential\Project Templates ------- Then select and delete templates. Also, Clicked on all the old deleted Projects and clicked OK on the No path box and now they are gone. Good. Thanks for the tips. ----- I am so GLAD that Tech Support answers the phone- so far within 10 minutes.

Be very careful about using the CLEAN AUDIO FOLDER... it can do much damage.... see the other thread here for more information.

If you wish to delete songs and folders and projects, open the folder where they are stored and drag them physically to the recycle bin.

If you have your DAW set to store all audio files in the project (highly recommended) that will remove the whole project.
