Disappearing Vocal Audio

Here is an odd one:

1.  Project with multiple vocal takes.
2.  Several had Melodyne applied (but not bounced).
3.  Opened the project.
4.  Meldodyne version of vocals plays and blobs look normal in Melodyne.
5.  Turn Melodyne off and you hear nothing on these tracks.
6.  The actual Sonar track (not the Melodyne version) shows a straight line: no waveform.

What the heck...?

I've experienced similar and variations of it with Melodyne plugin. That's why I never close a project without bouncing the Melodyne to tracks first, and I never have more than one instance of Melodyne open.
I think I've read the recommendation to bounce before you close from many, many forum members.

I  also a few times experienced difficulties in opening a project with Melodyne active.
IIRC, if you delete the Melodyne instance the original track is back to normal. The audio hasn't gone anywhere.

I never found any cure nor actual cause to that behaviour. It works great if I remember those
    routines.

I've never noticed that behavior from Melodyne either in the Plug in or in Editor.

I believe I have shut down with melodyne in the bin.... and on restart the next day or time, everything was good.

I will try to replicate this tomorrow.

One thing though..... I generally finish working with Editor pretty quickly then I bounce it or process it to the track....and click SAVE.

OK, so you bounce the track and then delete Meldoyne form the original track? I assume you bounce to another track so you will retain the original, right? Do you you think it would make sense to clone the audio first and do the Melodyne edit to the clone?
