Move Input Focus: Solved _ User Error

I've spent the evening, practicing techniques to move around to different views quickly.

I'm focusing on going from Tracks to Busses and back.  One shortcut isn't working as expected.

Shift + down arrow will jump from Tracks to Busses and put the focus in the bus view.   Shift + up arrow I would expect to put me back in my tracks view with the focus on a track but it doesn't and it remains in the bus view.  I've gone into the keybindings and everything is set up as it should be for those two key combinations.

Of course shift + B will open up each view as well but I'm interested in seeing if something isn't working as expected or if I misunderstand what Move Input Focus is supposed to do.

Not sure about what you are trying but I bound the TV input focus command to a F-key on my MCU and that seems to only work when it feels like it. I think it is to do with where the focus currently is, which rather seems to defeat the point but.........

.......for what you are trying to do, I have a word. The word is........drum roll........fanfare....................... Screensets.

Two of mine are TV & Buss view.

My SS4 is a CV on the left monitor showing only tracks + master buss, Centre monitor has the TV with only tracks showing.

SS5 is identical but with only busses showing in both views.

Of course a single monitor combined with the 'D' key and CV in the multidock is almost as quick.

Switching between them is automatic for me now and far quicker than showing the buss view and dragging it up or any of the 'older' methods.

I do use screensets but I have them all locked down.  In my case I like to work with shortcut keys because they are under my finger tips and number keys require me to move my hand out of position.  And Ctrl+B remembers that the bus pane view is expanded to full screen.

I've realized that I misinterpreted the purpose of Move Focus.  It just so happens that if you are in the Tracks pane, pressing Shift + down arrow opens the Bus Pane.  In my case the Bus Pane had been dragged to a full screen view.  If you have the screen split horizontally, you will see the focus jumping from the Track Pane to the Bus Pane and back again when using the appropriate short cut keys.
