quick midi question

Another quick midi question for you guys if you don't mind.

I create a one bar riff in X1, I then decide I want to loop it. I click 'control L' to loop after setting up the loop points at the top of the inspector. Sometimes when i do this the initial loop will then stretch to being over a bar long, say a bar and a quarter, this then throws out any ongoing midi because every new bar is then a bar and a quarter and so on. Any idea what's going on here? I've also noticed this happening where i have my last note right up to the end of the bar I'm trying to loop so I don't know if that is affecting it. Surely not?

Thanks

make sure the clip itself isn't longer than the exact bar. even if the last note in the clip doesn't overlap, the groove clip still will become 1bar+1q if the clip overlaps.

try and right click the clip and "bounce to clip" before you ctrl+L and see if it helps

Check the exact start and end points of the first and last notes of the loop and also check your Snap to Grid-settings.

Sonar often gets the number of beats wrong when turning a clip into a loop. You can use the clip loop properties in the inspector pane to set the correct number of beats.
