Rock Star Books ... yeah!

Hi,

I have read a few ... and liked many of them. Must be "autobiographies"

Some of them:

Mick Fleetwood - (just mentioned in another thread)

Grace Slick - (not impressed for some reason!)

Patty Smith (fabulous) - review posted here, but book is a bit more about Robert M than her and her work, but it has a fabulous look at the time and place that is ... unequaled by anyone anywhere.

Pamela Des Barres - The 1st book is good, but the 2nd one is best. In the 2nd one you learn a lot about the Zappa household that is not appreciated and shared and it should. The house was one of the biggest drink and drug rehab facilities and the list of famous folks that went by there ... is not small, and probably the reason why the 2nd book is not as easily found as the first one.  In later years, compared to the books, she comes off as plastic and full of crap and even ugly with too much makeup!

On the list to read:

Gregg Allman's for sure

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

Not exactly 'rock stars', or autobiographies, but I very much enjoyed XTC - 'Chalkhills & Children'' and ''Some People are Crazy'' about John Martyn.

In the last two years I've read:

    Clapton's
    Richards'
    Wood's
    (about) Lennon
    (about) Morrison
    (Rolling Stones' mag about) Harrison
And I just finished Hear There and Everywhere (Emmerick).

Maybe one or tow more, I can't be arsed to look at the bookshelf.

I've been thinking of a way to notify people here about my current Rock Star Read and this might be a good place.

As always, I think it's too little metal in the Coffee House. Could have something to do with the noise level...

Seven Deadly Sins by Corey Taylor - of Slipknot and Stone Sour fame

It's not a biography per se, he's more rambling about the Seven Deadly Sins but he manage to make it into an entertaining read with a biography of sorts in between the lines. I really enjoyed it and will recomend it to any rebel around here
