With all the "weird" threads I thought I'd waste some time and share some of my attitude/confusion. I don't know if it's the first 3D concert but it's my first. I couldn't believe how cool it was. The video is simply amazing and personally the only thing that would make live better for me is if I got to meet Joe. Now being so surprised about being entertained with technology and musicianship doesn't seem to even compare with my level of suprise with this forum. I thought it was for musicians. I'm thinking I was wrong. The thought that I am right is being supported with not only the type of threads being posted but the numbers of participation and rubbernecking. I've posted a few threads about new release music in the last few days that have fallen by the side of a very disgusting trail of disappointing attitudes from people that I've thought pretty highly of. The only satisfaction is knowing that it will have no negative effect on me or my life. The dissatisfaction is knowing the "real" disposition of so many that I had a much different opinion of. All the funny guys can't cover that. Much like one of the favorite sayings here that I can't stand... You can't polish a turd. Like so many others I certainly feel like this place has turned to ****. Just kiddin'....just pissed because nobody cared about Satch in 3D. I could give a flyin' **** about all the attitudes. The stuff like the pictures of Drews basses is worth wading thru the BS. :)

Hi Spacey, There's some new 3D formats hitting the market. Which format is this concert in ... The old blue/red washed out color format, or the new almost full color format? I was in Best Buy a couple months ago watching a Panasonic TV with powered 3D glasses. It was amazing, and the color was almost as good as watching normal TV. Bub.

Bub it just has Blu-ray 3D. The picture is absolutely flawless. I think the camara work is most excellent too. When it started I just took a deep breath because I knew I was in for a treat. I have an Alienware 17"lap to watch on. I put on the phones, glasses and kick back in my recliner and it takes you to the concert. There is 2hrs and 18 minutes of blow ya away and an additional bonus video 42 minutes and track of 12 minutes....I haven't checked the bonuse material yet. Nothing is washed Bub. The audio and video is amazing. I don't enjoy music videos...like the old MTV but I do like concert DVDs and this is simply fantastic. There are shots that capture the audience...and it's like being in the audience...crazy fun.

I like the Wizard of Oz when it turns to color. That's magical.

Hi Michael, I've seen Joe in person. I've worked on 3d movies. It wouldn't occur to me to watch either. But, I'm sure glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the review... I may give Joe another try even if I shy away from the 3d stuff. all the best, mike

Ah, I see... reverse psychology. I must be weak... it's working on me. How do you watch it on your screen? Is your Alienware screen 3d ready or is the technology able to do the 3d effect on a normal screen? best regards, mike

I picked the one 3D ready. It was purchased for my grand daughter. It didn't work out for her as she has a desktop and another lap and...man I don't know all the things she has.... Anyway my wife likes to use it and I like to watch 3D movies sometimes late on a Sat night. I ordered it with glasses for all and there is a sensor on the screen that the glasses detects when a 3D disc is in. Most excellent 3D. Images can appear to be out of the screen above the keyboard...almost like they could be touched. No, I don't take prescription medication :) Anyway, I've never seen a concert that was so close to like being on the stage, in the audience or.....like live. My first rock concert in 3D...and loved it...still. My only issue is that I can only watch for a short length of time. It gets uncomfortable for me. I seem to make about three of Joes' tunes and gotta go. Takes me about two sessions for a movie.

I just received the BluRay (I didn't know about this release until you mentioned it Spacey. Thanks for the post). I don't have a 3-D setup yet, but do have BluRay 7.1 surround. Picture is great. I wish I could see it in 3-D. One of these days... I like Joe. He and Eric Johnson are my favorites when you get into the guitar specialist thing.

I sure miss surround even though it would upset me. May try again someday. That quality of 3D combined with surround sound...almost virtual reality maybe. I too enjoy Joe and Eric. I just can't listen to them for very long...makes me head spin.
