Well, there is the clip envelope disaster.

If I could comp in layers with clip envelopes without worrying about losing all the work when the disaster happens I might think I have everything I need.

Oh and I'd like "set measure beat to Now" to work 100% without freaking out the timeline.

Otherwise I'm ambivalent.

I'm ambivalent about the mix of products I choose so I already have ways round those kind of things.

Quality of finish moreso than just not crashing will be one of the battlefields in an increasingly difficult fight for survival in this particular market going forward.

Without any kind of bias other than experience Sonar currently is the buggiest app. I use.  Hence I haven't moved toward X1 but taken up other product upgrades.  It is the bugs that have been identified since I arrived at V7 that still remain in X1 that have prevented any further money being spent by me on Cakewalk products since v8.5.3.  It is as simple as that.

I say that for no other reason than someone at the company might want to know.

Personally,
I don't see how crashing can be such a big issue.

I can get all the way through a project with out crashing... or I can start a project and load it with stuff that is destined to crash because it's simply more ambitious in expectation than my system can handle.

I've begun to think that crashing is more of a voluntary thing.

best regards,
mike

there are 2 vsti I need in 64 bit (catanya and jamstix) and I will never upgrade or add again...won't need to.

(brave words I know.....but really I think with X1, i7 and octa-capture I am there)

JR

No one will believe me but I'm pretty much there.

Drumagog, UAD, IRCAM Flux, IK Multimedia, Sonnox Codec, Jamstix....

....are the 32bits I love to be in 64bit (in that order of 'importance' for me).

At this point a new synth/drum kit/FX will have to really WOW me if it's more than $50  before I'd consider buying it. I say this cuz I'm a fan of EZMix packs and they are $49.
are you really a big fan of the ez mix?
is that ezmix 2?
i thought about checking them out, looked a little simple for me,but hey,if it makes the job easier then why not right?
waves has the one knob.ez mix i think looked a little cleaner in detail.
ive been thinking about possibly picking them up,i get the spam from toontrack so ive seen the packs they have as well.
how do they work on bass?i think i would like to use them for bass tracks.

your thoughts mr. bapu?

I for one can't see the problem with people posting 'goodbye' threads.

Or people posting their opinions on Cakewalk software in general, and/or comparing it to any other DAW software.

If I worked for Cakewalk, these are just the threads I would be reading every now and then. After all, it's free market research of sorts.

I use the Bass Chorus (from EzMix 1. I do have EZMix 2) all the time. I have just got into using it for drum OH's as well. I have (here an there) used them on guitars. Never on voice yet IIRC.

The UAD Trident is my goto there along with an 1176.  My very own preset, it stays there all the time...

I can sell it to you for a very good price and I'll even throw in another 49 for free.

I can't say fairer than that.

Looking at my reliability monitor I can quickly see that I've had 2 crashes since January.

Once was my Codemeter stick having trouble upon first reboot with a BIOS update.  Once was Sonar that just locked up one time on opening without a project.

Crashes have long been a non-issue for me.

I can't say fairer than that.

Due to my debilitating speech defect, I am unable to pronounce the letter 'F' or the letter 'T'.

So I can't say fairer than that either.

I don't mind "goodbye" threads. There are many
that I would be worried about if they didn't mention it
or have someone let it be known.

Goodbye Native and best to ya on your new adventure.

Reece you've gotta develop and release that thing.

I want mine pegged into the red at all times, I reckon it will help me achieve more consistency.

Does Cakewalk currently have a 'Boss' as such?  If so he/she should be alerted to this.

If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be traveling on, now
'Cause there's too many daws I've got to see
But, if I stayed here with you, X1
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird has gotta change
And this bird has gotta change
And this bird has gotta change
Lord knows, I can change

Is remembering that lead the real reason?
