Automation record - bad resolution

Problem with automation.
You record a smooth movement and it records  flat for a while, then vertical, then flat. And so on.
It seems to just record one node every second or so. It only does straight vertical and horizontal lines. (No curves or diagonal lines for the smooth movement).
I have tried changing the Snap to Grid and Event Draw Duration.
Any Ideas? This bug makes automation impossible to use. The only way to do it is to draw by hand.
