16 bit is displayed on track view, while settings show 24 bit

Hi, When I open a new project, the track view shows 16 bit, while the audio settings are set to 24 bit. Why is that, and how do I fix it? Thank you Audio card: Fucusrite Saffire 6

    Either you are using a 16 bit piece of audio or you recorded it at 16 bit.  Check your Options>Audio settings if you recorded it.

    To clarify: In Preferences, go to File> Audio Data, and make sure the Record Bit Depth is set to 24.

    After that, the next time you record something in that project it will be recorded at 24 bit depth.

    Thank you, that did the trick!

    Specs: Sonar X1d Producer, Focusrite Saffire 6, Windows 7 (64 bit), Intel i5. ALL IN ONE PC I'm afraid (so it' the one I also use for my home office). Having a seperate DAW is not an option at the time I'm afraid..
