sonar not recording or saving the file

ok so i'm sure i am doing something wrong here too, but i'm not sure, it's happened several times in session with this guy i work with. I think his "leaving to pick up his daughter" was actually just because i couldn't figure this out - so any help is...help. I hear audio on my monitors, see the meters working in the driver, the meters show sound in sonar, I see the waveform recording when i hit record, but when i hit stop I see nothing. It just disappears. I tried showing layers. No such luck. WTF. I think i fixed this once but I don't remember exactly how, though I think it had something to do with the clip recording but not being visible or hidden by something else somehow. I remember dragging a clip back or something and there it was. Does this ring a bell with anyone? If so can you explain what it was i did to find my sound, how to do it again, and how to prevent this from happening?

Just to be sure, this is on a track not a buss?

I'd try emptying your picture cache but this one may be a tech support call. I don't think I've ever heard of that complaint before let alone know what is causing it.

Just off to pick up my daughter....

lol yes the track is armed. It shows the waveform during recording. That wouldn't happen if it weren't armed. I'm about ready to just reinstall the whole damn software.

It is a strange scenario you describe, have you tried clicking "shift-F" (in Track View) after the recording is finished to fit all the available tracks into the track view, I'm thinking maybe the track you're recording on is somehow out of view ? You're hitting spacebar after the recording aren't you ?
Have you tried recording a really short bit of audio to see if that will work ?
     . . . don't have a daughter to pick-up, so let me know more detail about your issue . . .

Look in the audio folder of your project to see if audio is there. That is if you are using per project audio folders. If not check the audio folder in projects folder.

I would clear out your picture cache as FB said.

    The audio should be somewhere.

I also have to say I have never had this problem or heard of it before.

i dont know if its possible, but scroll all the way down to the very end of the track..is it there?
ive seen this once,i think its got to do with importing audio at its own timestamp.
ive seen it with importing loops but thought ive seen it once while recording audio.
not positive, but at this point, what have you got to lose..about .7 seconds of scroll time.
