Cakewalk Mastering Limiter
I posted this upstairs without any interest, so I figured I'd ask in a different environment. While tinkering with pyro audio creator I stumbled across the Cakewalk Mastering Limiter. It seems really good and contains presets plus the ability to rool your own. The interface says powered by izotope. I find it easy to use, and to my ears it sounds good. I can't find it on my system but since I own the software I'd like to use it in leau of the ceement limiter. Is anyone familiar with this plug?

John - is the Pyro Audio Creator one that you purchased separately from sonar?

Beagle John - is the Pyro Audio Creator one that you purchased separately from sonar? Yes, last year they had it on sale for $20. It has an effect bin for plugs and you can tell it where to scan. It picks up a couple plugs including PerfectSpace, the MP3 convertor and the mastering limiter. The limiter works very well. It's almost like the ceement limiter with a different skin. Curse those sneaky bakers.

I see. actually, it's on sale again for $20 now. http://www.store.cakewalk.com/b2cus/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=10-CWAC1.00-10E I think I have it from a previous version but I don't think I've ever used it. in fact I don't think it's even installed on this DAW, so I must have gotten it with Sonar 6 or below. sorry I can't help you, tho. it's probably proprietary to Pyro, tho you'd think they'd allow it in sonar, but???

IIRC Izotope used to use the same limiter but tied to sound forge at one time but that was locked into SF and although it was a DX plugin didn't show up anywhere else other than SF either. I might be wrong about that but if it was a standard DX plug and Pyro is installed it will be registered on the system and would be showing up in plug-in manager already if it wasn't locked to Pyro, but again if it is a DX plug it is likely 32 bit only also and not show up on 64 bit Sonar anyway. If it's a VST dll it's just a case of finding it and copying it somewhere in Sonar's scan path, but then again it may be a case of it only working in Pyro.
