Console View Track Manager weirdness

I've seen this issue mentioned around here but no one has had any luck sorting it out (as far as I know).

In the Console View, I'm unable to access the Track Manager, either by menu (Strips > Track Manager) or keystroke (H). This only happens in certain projects and through experimentation I discovered that it's somehow related to the TTS-1 and the Groove Synth. If I delete them from the synth rack the CV Track Manager functionality returns.

Okay, so I narrowed it down and at least know what's causing it now, although no idea why or what to do to fix it.

Anyone have anything to contribute...?

UPDATE: After more playing around, I found that having the synth tracks in a track folder is the cause of the CV track manager breaking, for some bizarre reason. If I remove them from the folder the CV track manager functionality returns.

Reported the issue to tech support who thanked me for the catch and said they'll file it as a bug.

track folder issue? or maybe try inserting as a midi/audio pair (if you used "simple instrument" track originally)

    list of stuff

Thanks, pwal. Your suggestion works, if I insert synths as a midi/audio pair and don't use the "simple instrument" setting I can put them in track folders and still have access to the CV Track manager. I can just delete the surplus MIDI tracks that setting creates. An acceptable workaround. I also found that using the "Split instrument track" after a simple instrument track has been created will also work.
