I've lost some memory too? If I walked in to a room full of people I hadn't seen in a while? I I "personally" would say hello to them first? But I'm old fashioned...

But manners aren't what they used to be I guess?

These days, someone LEAPS into the room and screams "CHECK OUT MY ABS!!" I guess we've come a long way baby :-(

I didn't see your original post, so I don't understand what just happened here.

everyone here should feel welcome to post their songs regardless of whether they've been here in a while or not.

but if your post was less than cordial in the introduction or demeaning in any way, I can understand why someone would be upset.

if it was not meant that way, then you shouldn't feel like you're not welcome here.

Edit to add:  I'm also sorry to hear you're having medical problems.  my thoughts and prayers for you and your health.

    Thank you for your reply
In my original post, I greeted everyone reading with "Aloha" which means hello here in Hawaii.
I explained that I have`nt posted or visited the forum in awhile, and that with the help of my son, i`ve been trying to re learn how to play my guitar.
(I lost some memory, vision and motor skills from a series of little strokes and i`ve been trying to get back into playing.)
I also said that I just started to record again and here was one of my recordings, a U2 cover.
Then I said thank you for listening to my noise and that was it.
    I never demanded anything.
I am really ashamed that I cant really remember anyone here.
I see that i`ve had a few posts in the past but they are no longer available, so I cannot cross reference to see what I posted or who I conversed with.
I guess instead of "Aloha", I should have just began with "Hello".
Thank you again for your reply.

    No problem John.

You will find that the "new people" that are here now are just as friendly and welcoming as the old ones who have left for various reasons.

Please do post your music here.  Many times after medical issues, one needs an outlet for emotions and music will provide that cathartic outlet. Music is good for the soul.

My gosh. This is a heart wrenching thread. I got a lump in my throat when I read your second post. Please put your song back up, and please feel welcomed back. It is great to see you again. "Gutten Tag" works too .

John, most people know that Aloha means "hello" - those who don't should be able to figure it out, this is a multi-national forum with many different people from countries where English is not their native language, so I don't see where there would be a problem saying "aloha" instead of "hello."

I wouldn't worry at all about not being able to remember anyone or your posts from before.  that's not an issue for most people.  if it is an issue for some, they can get over it.

You are as welcome as anyone else to come here and post a song for people to listen to.  you are encouraged to listen to other peoples music on the forum as well, but it is not a requirement.

please repost your music and I will make a point of listening to it when I get home (I can't listen from work as they have most streaming sites blocked).

Me too. I occasionally work for a lady who forgot how to read and write after a series of minor strokes, and gradually taught herself to do both again.

Post away John, I remember you, and your music.

    Aloha, John.
I also remember you, and we have had many nice conversations. It's ok if you don't remember us.
I can only imagine how immensely frustrating that is.
Even though I didn't hear it, I am rather impressed that you were able to put a song together.
    That is most encouraging.
Keep after it, and please post again.

I remember you John. Your former avatar was your smiling face holding a black guitar. Might have been an Ibanez or similar stratocaster style guitar. There are no apologies necessary for your set backs, nor for any songs you post here. You have friends here and we are glad to see you posting again.

I remember you too John and enjoyed your company and your music.

I was aware you were having some difficulties and times were hard then too, all the best in your quest to get well.

Don't ever be ashamed, you are never less than anyone around you, contrarily you are more remarkable than most to get this far.

    Hang around bud.

btw Aloha is a beautiful greeting.

I did not see the original but from what I can gather it certainly seems that there is no reason that an apology is needed.  Welcome back and I hope that your medical condition is on the path to improvement.  I certainly would hope that you will be posting your songs.
